Weaving is the music that accompanies me. Like singing and sighing or playing the organ, it breathes with the changing of the shed and causes a theme and variation, a crescendo and resolution.

Weaving is the base, the DNA for my work. When I need to refresh myself I go back to the loom and ask questions there. Out of this active accumulation of material and process, and the inherent characteristics of drawing (line quality, layer, gesture, use of space and negative space, etc.) comes the ideas I expand into my other work.
